Atkinson Memorial Congregational House

The Atkinson Memorial Church is one of a group of eight ecclesiastical buildings in Oregon and Southwest Washington designed or influenced by architect Willard Tobey between 1907 and 1925. Atkinson Church was the last one built of this group in 1924. The stained glass windows in the church were designed and installed by the renowned Povey Brothers Studio in Portland. The church was named for George Henry Atkinson, the church’s second minister. Atkinson, a pioneer preacher and founder of churches, colleges and public schools in the Northwest, left a sizable mark on Oregon’s early development. Listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
